The scholarships listed here are not specifically for GLBT students. However, many GLBT students may be eligible to apply for them.
Please note: GLYS has no way of knowing if a particular scholarship sponsor has anti-GLBT policies or discriminates against GLBT individuals. Please check info and application language carefully. GLYS suggests that until you KNOW that a sponsor is GLBT friendly/affirming, that you do not “come out” in your application process without giving this step careful consideration. If you find that information here is outdated or that a sponsor does discriminate against GLBT individuals, please let us know so that we take steps to inform other interested students. Thank you.

American Academy of Allergy
Associates to the American Academy of Allergy present at least 18 Award of Excellence Asthma Scholarships to graduating high school seniors with asthma. Scholarship monies may be used or applied only to pay for tuition, books and fees for a bona fide course of instruction at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or accredited technical or vocational college or school.

Scholarships for Minority Accounting Students
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
This scholarship program provides awards of up to $5,000 to outstanding minority students to encourage their selection of account as a major and their ultimate entry into the profession. These awards are funded by the AICPA Foundation from monies contributed by the AICPA, its members, public accounting firms, and others The program has been in existence for more than 20 years and has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships.
